Has Spring Really Sprung?

Our new Anna apple tree in blossom already!

If you live along the Gulf Coast, you probably think it has. The past couple of weeks have been a flurry of transplanting, seeding and pruning. I just put in a big order today to Simmon's Plant Farm. They have been in business for over 60 years and have unbelievable prices. I was also able to call and speak to someone who answered all my silly ordering questions. I'm hoping to have the shipment by the end of the week, so I'll be able to give you all a good update on plant quality and speed of shipping. In the meantime, take a look at some of what we've been doing!

The Etsy Store Continues...

As some of you know, I'm a seller on Etsy. I sell vintage items. Yes, Etsy is a site for handmade items. However, the rules also allow for the selling of good quality vintage items (at least 20 years old). Sure, there's a lot of hoopla over what actually qualifies as vintage--but I enjoy it. Seeing as my items are usually on the 40+years side, I figure I'm okay. So, here's a catalogue of some of my items for sale. Click on the bottom link to be taken to my shop. Have a question about an item? Please feel free to ask away! As a wonderful reader of my blog, you are also entitled to a 20% discount (until baby Kinsey is born...). Simply type in brighthaven in the notes to the seller section of the invoice. Enjoy!

I miss...

my little blog. I have been so busy setting up my online store that I can't think of anything creative to say on the blog. I will tell you we made some supersweet finds while we were out "thrifting" today. From books to pressure cookers (for 2.50!!), we came home loaded with "good stuff" and some new ideas for marketing. I have become so internet savvy in the last few months, I don't know what to do with myself.

If you haven't yet checked out my little shop, it would do my heart good if you clicked on the link to the right. I don't have anything listed right now, but the pages are basically set up. look around and let me know what you think of the images, navigation and so forth. I am looking forward to everyone's feedback!

The Little Store that went Live!

Make that, the very little store. James and I decided to set up an online storefront for vintage clothing, collectibles, fabrics and trim. So far, I only have two items listed. We're just trying out the most basic storefront. It is proving to be a little more difficult to set up than I had hoped. But, we're excited to have a cyber-place for all our treasures...why don't you come on over and see us some time?
