Thirteen things in my pantry (or refrigerator) that I consider staples:
- Coffee--sad, isn't it?
- Pasta shells--I add those little things in all kinds of dishes. And, if I'm really desperate, I eat 'em plain with butter!
- Tomato sauce. Nothing better than macaroni and tomato sauce. It's a childhood dish and good for what ails you. Add bacon grease, garlic, crushed black pepper, oregano, the options are endless...
- Beans: canned or dried--canned are good for a quick vegetarian chili.
- Canned tomatoes--it's a sad day when we're out of these. What can I possibly make for dinner??
- Rice--I'm from Louisiana folks, and a meal is barely a meal without rice.
- Flour--that's a given, right? Make flatbread, chapatis, muffins, cookies, tortillas...
- Coffee creamer--always a good reason for running to the store.
- Soymilk--I have even used it to make milk gravy. You grow accustomed to the sweeter taste.
- Cheddar cheese--the sharper the better
- Sweeteners: honey, molasses and brown sugar are all-purpose. I love to dip hot buttermilk biscuits into molasses mixed with butter.
- Butter--while we're talking about it. Someone eats too much of it around here!
- Fresh veggies. I always buy mine at Save-A-Lot: great value for a tiny price. Right now, bell peppers (red and green) are two for 99 cents. Avocados are 79 cents a piece.

Got to love a woman with honey in her pantry. Do you buy Sue Bee or get local honey? There's some great beekeepers in your area!
Happy TT.
That's quite an assortment. A masterpiece waiting to happen!
Oh my goodness did you say hot buttermilk biscuits dipped in molasses mixed with butter??????? That was a childhood favorite of mine!!
Nice pantry list, funny my tpoic this week involves the kitchen too...but my pantry is almost empty we need to shop tomorrow.
Peace, love and Mama Bear Hugs.
Oh yes coffee for sure! Great list!
OK I would swap the Coffee creamer with Tea and the Soy Milk with Mozzarella cheese and we are set! Apart from the fact that of course we have no safe-a-lot here so I get my fruit and veg from the local organic green grocer.
Your pantry sounds a lot like mine - except for the coffee creamer. And I have salt - lots of salt... but only the real kind (it's pink! how funny is that?!)I also always have pineapple and tuna fish. I consider those staples :)

That's a good idea for a list! I'll have to make a note of that to do my "13" about some week. Thanks for sharing!
