What is it

about these vintage patterns that I love so much? Those of you who have a hankering for old things...sewing and decorating and entertaining. Why do you like them?

For me, I think they remind me of a time that I feel was safe. A time when people had faith: in themselves, parents, government, God, friends and jobs. With the rise of existentialism and other philosophies, we don't quite trust people around us...until they are useful. Of course, part of that is just part of being human. As well, it's partly our sheister until proven trustworthy mindset.

With that said, here is a slideshow of some of my absolute favorite patterns.

Perhaps it's because they are so elegant and simple, is why we like them so much. Did you happen to see the vintage patterns that Free Wool picked up? Check her out on my sidebar :-)

Hmmmm....I think I like them because it reminds me of days when moms stood home with the children, and just how simple life seemed. Are those your personal patterns? I got a huge box from freecycle. I still haven't had a chance to go through all of them. I was so excited to get them.

Yep, they're all mine...I never let a really nice vintage pattern pass me by...of course it helps that I usually get them for a dime each.
