At least three of our little caterpillars are nicely tucked away in their chrysales. One butterfly has been fluttering around. Alas, we have neither food nor companions for it! These guys should stay quiet for about 10 more days and then emerge. We are in the throes of some more cold weather around here. My...it's 35 degrees outside! At least the sun came out today...
Second update: weed pulling!
I pulled these weeds on Friday I believe. Recall how ancient civilizations placed the heads of their enemies on their gateposts? Well, this should scare away any future weeds...
We call them briar weed/satan weed/**&&*#$ and they are brutal! I broke my shovel digging these up. Thankfully, James repaired it for me...

These photos show delectable Chili pot pie with rice and lightly steamed broccoli straight from the winter garden. Oh, it was good. Although, James did say I gave him an impossible amount of broccoli...

Hi Becca! Thank you for the nice comment on my Hitty Joy. I don't know if I would call myself a doll artist- i don't really have an artist's vision, but I do love old lovable dolls. I can't believe all the stuff you have found free! Have you read Tightwad Gazette? Anyway, I'm babbling, but wanted to say thanks and let you know I'm enjoying my wandering around in your blog!
I do believe I will have to try some of that chili pot pie - it will be on next week's dinner list. YUM!
And the weeds . . . we have too many just like that - they are a witch with a capital B!
